Melloh Reflects on Summer
Sept. 11, 2008
FRESNO, Calif. - As a freshman, Morgan Melloh captivated the softball world as a left handed pitcher and she returns to Fresno State more experienced for her sophomore campaign and looks to take the Bulldogs to Oklahoma City.
Melloh sat down with www.gobulldogs.com to discuss how her summer went back home in Fishers, Ind., how she prepared for the upcoming season and what to expect from the 2009 Bulldogs.
What did you do back home all summer?: I worked and hung out with my family and friends.
What did you do for the 4th of July?: We went to my Uncle's house and did fireworks.
Did you go on any fun family trips?: My family went to Kings Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. My friend and I just hung out there.
How did you prepare over the summer for this next season?: I ran almost the whole summer and went to the weight room. I also gave pitching lessons to youth. They said that I was really helping and they were learning quickly. It was a second job. I love doing it.
What are your goals in the pre-season?: To prioritize my schedule and work ahead in school. For the team, just practice before the season and start getting in shape. I'll start running when I get there. Probably get Caitlin or one of the new catchers so I can throw a bit.
What are you most looking forward to this fall?: I was really excited to see everyone when I got back to Fresno. I'm looking forward to playing that's the most exciting part. I'm also looking forward to seeing who we have on the team and what we are capable of.
What types of classes are you taking this semester?: I'm taking criminology, history, English, math and astronomy. My major will probably end up being criminology. I'm always interested in that.
The softball team started fall team practice once school started. Fresno State will open the 2009 softball season the first week of February. Stay logged on to www.gobulldogs.com for official news Fresno State softball.
