FRESNO, Calif. - Four Fresno State softball student-athletes, Haley Perkins, Lindsay Milchovich, Mallory Perkins and Kaylan Pollard all earned NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors for their work in the classroom during the 2008-09 season.

Each of these student-athletes had to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA. Since the NFCA started handing out this honor in 1997, 28 Fresno State student-athletes have been awarded.

This is the second NFCA scholar-athlete award for Haley Perkins and Milchovich and the first for Mallory Perkins and Pollard.

Along with this academic honor, Haley Perkins in her four years as a Bulldog was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, the recipient of the Mr. Bulldog Scholarship (2008), a two-time Fresno State and WAC Scholar-Athlete, an All-WAC Academic Freshmen team honoree and a four-time Academic All-WAC honoree.

Milchovich was also a Bulldog Foundation Women's Foundation recipient and was a two-time WAC and Fresno State Scholar-Athlete along with Mallory Perkins. She also earned Academic All-WAC honors in 2007.

Pollard was also named to the All-WAC Academic Freshmen team and an Academic All-WAC honoree in 2009.
