FRESNO, Calif. - Head softball coach Margie Wright announced that Hannah Williams and Rebecca Walker have each signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Fresno State and play for the Bulldogs in 2010.

Williams hails from Brentwood, Calif., where she attends Freedom High School. In her first three years at FHS, Williams has been named Rookie of the Year, First Team All-League twice, the NCS Player of the Year, Contra Coast Times Player of the Year, Bay Area 100 top athletes twice, Bay Area top five female athletes and led her team to the High School National Championship along with winning the NCS and BVAL Championships.

Her junior year she was also named First Team All-State and a second team All-American while boasting a .44 ERA and a .418 batting average.

"Hannah not only brings her pitching ability into our program, but she is a great hitter," Wright said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to coach her. I am going to put her in a role to move our program forward."

From La Mirada High School in La Mirada, Calif., Walker is a three-year varsity starting shortstop for her high school. She was also a three-time member of the All-Suburban League and the MVP of the league her junior year. All three years her high school has won the league championship.

Walker boasts a .385 career batting average and a .954 career fielding percentage. She was also a three-year scholar-athlete and a member of the honor roll.

"I am really excited for Becca to get on board," Wright said. "She is such a versatile athlete and a great team player. She has so much passion for the sport and it's great for Fresno State to have her on our team."

"Join the State - Fresno State"- The Bulldogs begin the 2009 season on Feb. 6 vs. Wisconsin in the Cathedral City Kick-Off hosted by Oregon State in Cathedral City, Calif., at 10:30 a.m.
