Powers won the Most Inspirational Award for the 2012-13 voted on by teammates. Stevenson School: A dominant middle-distance swimmer at Stevenson School ... a four year varsity letterwinner (2008-12) ... named captain her senior year ... also named team MVP her senior year ... holds the school record in the 500 Freestyle and the 200 Freestyle relay ... was Central Coast Section league champion in the 500 Freestyle all four years and was the 200 Freestyle league champion her junior and senior year ... named Female Swimmer of the County her junior year ... earned All-League for all four years ... was a CCS Finalist her junior and senior year. Personal: Born February 22, 1994 ... parents are Catherine and Daniel ... has a younger brother Brad ... her father, Daniel played baseball at Arizona (1978-81) and her uncle Steve Powers also played baseball at Arizona from (1975-78) ... hobbies include eating, sleeping, going to the beach and shopping ... earned the President's Award for Outstanding Citizenship ... lists her biggest athletic thrill as making finals and breaking the Stevenson School record at the Central Coast Section championships in 2012 ... most admires Mark Temple, her club coach, because all his time and dedication he put into her ... also recruited by West Point and UCSD ... chose to attend Fresno State because she loved the team, the beautiful pool and the criminology program.
