LOS ANGELES -- The Fresno State swimming and diving team won six of 13 swimming events on Saturday to propel them to a title at the Beach Cup in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon.

Fresno State finished with 711 points, 40 points clear of second place San Diego.

"The girls swam great today," Bulldogs head coach Jeanne Fleck said. "We are excited to come home with the win."

Hannah Prigge took home wins in both the 1 and 3-Meter springboard events and also set a new school record in the process. The senior scored a 297.90 in the 1-Meter then won the 3-Meter with a score of 335.40 to top the previous record of 327.85 that she set in November.

The 200 Freestyle Relay team got the day started with an event win. Leah Hatayama, Lucy Titchin, Brooke Fuller and Dana Jones swam a 1:37.24 to grab 30 points for Fresno State. Titchin would come back later and finish second in the 200 Free with a time of 1:55.12 to score 13 points. In that same event, Fuller finished third (1:55.23) to score 12.

Fresno State also won the 400 Medley Relay. The team of Esme Gullick, Michelle Dockendorf, Jones and Hatayama won the event with a time of 3:57.15. The Bulldogs' "A" relay team, which was leading the event, was disqualified for having a swimmer take off too early.

"We would've gone 1-2 in that event had we not had the DQ," Fleck said about her 400 Medley Relay teams.

Fresno State also got event wins for 15 points from Esme Gullick (200 Fly, 2:02.53), Kelly Simmons (1650 Free, 17:15.41) and Hailee Baldwin (200 Breaststroke, 2:21.16).

The Bulldogs clinched the Beach Cup title with a win in the 400 Freestyle Relay, the final event of the day. Hatayama, Titchin, Jones and Fuller teamed together again to record a time of 3:32.48.
