FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State swimming and diving team put forth a great team effort on its final home meet of the season, but fell short to the UC Davis Aggies 195-105. The Bulldogs had a pre-meet ceremony to honor their six seniors: Jen Hicks, Stacey Luke, Rayanne Nguyen, Sarah Pino, Britney Vogel and Dani Yoho.

"I am so proud of all our seniors," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "They have really built this program from the ground up and they have been leading us for four years."

In the deep end, the divers made school history setting new Fresno State school records on the 1- and 3- meter boards. Senior Stacey Luke had the best diving performance of her life scoring lifetime best in both and set the new record on the 1-meter with her score of 295.70 winning the event. In the 3-meter dive her score was a 290.05.

Hannah Prigge also had an outstanding meet setting the new Fresno State school record in the 3-meter dive scoring a 324.60 winning her event. Prigge placed second in the 1-meter event tying her lifetime best score of a 292.

"Our divers did awesome today," said diving coach Taryn Patrick. "I am really proud of Stacey scoring her personal best on both the boards and setting a new school record. It was great that her family was able to be here and watch her dive on senior day. Prigge also set a new school record and its great seeing the hard work pay off."

In the pool, the swimmers had a lot of season best times. Leading the way was senior Dani Yoho winning the 50 freestyle remaining undefeated in this race for the season in dual-meets. Her time of 23.15 was a new pool record at the Fresno State Aquatics Center.

"I'm really happy with how we swam as a team today," said Yoho. "It was so much fun swimming at home in front of our fans for our senior meet."

Also having a strong performance was Rayanne Nguyen swimming season best times in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Alex Madsen picked up two more individual wins on the season in the 100 back (57.04) and the 200 back (2:02.69) as well.

"We're moving forward and this weekend we showed we are on the right path," said Fleck. "We had a lot of season best times with Rayanne, Dani and Alex. Our sprinters Leah and Brooke had some really great swims along with our distance swimmers Courtney and Alexis. The team is working really hard and they raced so much faster."

As the Bulldogs prepare for their final dual meet of the season and the conference championships, Fleck is really going to have the team focus on resting and recovering to be at their fastest.
