    FRESNO, Calf. - On Saturday afternoon in San Jose, Calif. the Bulldogs swam the Spartans in their last dual meet of the season. The 'Dogs swam some great races, but fell to San Jose State 199-96.

    Sophomore Alex Madsen continued her 100 backstroke win streak today with an uncontested time of 57.86. Madsen led the race the whole time with her splits of 28.27 and 29.59. This is her third consecutive win for this event.

    Madsen was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that picked up a second place finish with the time of 1:47.29. Britney Vogel, Lucy Titchin and Dani Yoho completed the Fresno State relay team.

    In the 100 breaststroke, senior Vogel clocked in at 1:07.08 to finish in a close second place. Also finishing second was senior Yoho in the 50 free. In a neck-and-neck race, San Jose State's Marisa DeWames (23.27) squeaked pass Yoho who finished with a 23.47.

    Competing in the 200 backstroke was Brittany Buna who clocked in at 2:10.74 good for a fourth place finish. Coming in right behind Buna was freshman Lindsay Ruiz with the time of 2:13.15. Ruiz also had a good swim in the 100 butterfly finishing fifth with the time of 1:00.90.

    In diving, senior Stacey Luke placed second with her score of 291.45 in the 1-meter. In the 3-meter dive Luke had the highest Bulldog finish in third with her score of 285.15.

    The Fresno State swimming and diving team will now prepare for its first Mountain West Conference Championship meet in San Antonio, Texas from Feb. 20-23, 2013.
