SAN ANTONIO, Texas-- Hannah Prigge finished fourth in the 3-meter diving competition to highlight the action on Day 2 at the Mountain West Championships for the Fresno State swimming and diving team.
The senior from Rocklin, Calif., scored a 314.91 to grab the fourth-place finish. That came a day after she finished ninth, but had the third-highest score, in the 1-meter dive on Wednesday. Freshman Shelbie Holden continued her strong showing at her first MW Championship, scoring 240.24 points to finish 15th.
In the 500 Freestyle, junior Lucy Titchin swam a personal-best time of 4:54.52 to finish 15th. She missed breaking the school record by a little more than a second.
Fresno State's 200 Freestyle Relay team also came close to breaking a school record. Titchin teamed up with Leah Hatayama, Brooke Fuller and Dana Jones to swim a 1:32.66, just one second off the current school record.
"I was really pleased with how our 200 Free Relay swam today," Bulldogs head coach Jeanne Fleck said.
Now Fresno State heads into the final two days of the conference championships, a place they feel comfortable after what they have done on final days in invitational meets during the season.
"Good things happen for us later in meets and we get better and better every session," Fleck said. "So I am really excited about tomorrow."
Competition continues tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. P.T. All of the action of the MW Championships can be seen at http://www.themw.com/#!/watch-live.
