FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's Brittany Buna, a native of Canada, returned to her home country to compete in the 2012 Canadian Olympic Trials. She competed in the 400 IM, 200 IM and the 200 Backstroke.

"Brittany did great this week competing in the Trials," said head swimming and diving coach Jeanne Fleck. "It was an awesome experience for her and I and it was really exciting being a part of the meet."

Buna, a sophomore from Victoria, B.C., swam in her first Olympic Trials in Montreal, Canada at the old Olympic 50 meter pool. On Friday she competed in 200 IM and clocked in a time of 2:25.34. On Sunday she competed in the 200 Backstroke and swam a time of 2:25.53.

"It was such a great experience swimming at the Olympic Trials," said Buna. "Being at the meet was so awesome and getting to see the Canadian team picked for London was really cool."

Buna will return home and train in the off-season to prepare for her junior year as a Bulldog.
