    FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State Swimming and Diving team sits in third place with 179.5 points after day one of the Bulldog Invitational.

    Sophomore Kelly Simmons turned in the best performance of the day for the Bulldogs when she swam a new personal-best in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:05.91. Her new best-time was good for a fifth-place finish and she contributed 13 points to the team's day one total.

    Lucy Titchin swam a 5:10.77 in the 500 Free to finish in tenth.

    Hannah Prigge, an NCAA-performer from a season ago, finished in second in the 3-Meter dive with a score of 287.925. Freshman Shelbie Holden finished in fourth with a score of 233.925. Lacie Ruth (210.975) and Noelle Farrer (210.375) finished in seventh and eighth, respectively.

    The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Kali Conlon, Hailee Baldwin, Tarryn Rennie and Leah Hatayama finished in fifth with a time of 1:47.97. It was Conlon, Baldwin and Rennie's first relay in their collegiate careers. The group scored 28 points with their fifth-place performance.

    In the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Titchin, Brooke Fuller, Hatayama and Simmons finished fifth with a time of 7:45.65 to score 28 points for the team.

    Freshman Esme Gullick, swimming in the first collegiate race of her career, finished in 2:09.30 to finish in sixth in the 200 Yard IM. She came into the event with a seed time of 2:11.70 and improved on that by more than two seconds. Fellow freshman Baldwin finished in eighth with a time of 2:09.62. The two combined to score 24 points to the team total.

    Leah Hatayama missed a personal-best by two-tenths of a second when she swam a 23.90 in the 50 Yard Freestyle to finish in fourth. The sophomore scored 15 points thanks to her top-four finish. Conlon, also scored for the `Dogs with her 14th place finish in a time of 25:07.

    Day two action of the Bulldog Invitational will begin on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
