FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs wrapped up the third and final day of competition at the Arena Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
Sophomore Michelle Dockendorf swam a career best with a 2:16.86 in the 200 Breastroke prelims and then a 2:18.53 in the finals earning a fifteenth place finish out of 60 swimmers.
Courtney Sheehan finished 17th in the 1650 Free with a 17:13.21 breaking her previous season best time of 17:28.90. Sheehan, a freshman from Waukesha, Wis. is proving to be one of the fastest distance swimmers in the WAC and has shaved seconds off her times at each meet.
Senior Heidi Gjoen swam a 2:04.83 knocking four seconds off her season best time. Freshman Lucy Titchin also swam a season best in the 100 Free with a 52.62 and Junior Rayanne Nguyen swam a season best 2:08.05 in the 200 Butterfly.
The Bulldogs had a very successful three-day meet in Long Beach, Calif. Dani Yoho (50 Free) and Brittany Buna (400 IM) each broke the school records, three 'Dogs set new career bests, and numerous season best times were swam.
With a total of 179 points Fresno State finished fourteenth out of 21 teams at the Arena Invitational.
Up next the Bulldogs will return home to the Fresno State Aquatics Center on Saturday, Dec. 3 to face WAC rival Idaho. The meet will be the last home event of 2011 for Fresno State.
