    FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno State swimming and diving team resumes competition this week as the Bulldogs head to Los Angeles, Calif., to square off in dual meet competition against high profile opponents UCLA and Kansas. The `Dogs have been training hard in preparation for this event as they have not competed in dual meet competition since Nov. 21 at the Toshiba Classic. Head coach Jeanne Fleck has implemented two-a-day practices into the Bulldogs training and conditioning during the break, in order to have her team well prepared as the meat of the season approaches.

    Scouting the Jayhawks
    The Kansas Jayhawks come out of the Big 12 Conference and look to be good competition for the Bulldogs. The Jayhawks earned a 10-3 dual meet record last season, finished fourth in the Big 12 and 36 overall at the NCAA championships. The Jayhawks were ranked in the preseason Top 25 and sit at 2-3 on the season.

    Scouting the Bruins
    Coming out of the highly competitive PAC-10 conference, the UCLA Bruins have a record of 3-1 at this point in the season and finished an impressive third place overall out of the 25 schools who competed in the Toshiba Classic. UCLA finished sixth in the PAC-10 and 41st overall in the NCAA last season. The Bruins swimming and diving team is full of NCAA qualifier hopefuls and is poised to be a good challenge for the Bulldogs.

    `Dogs Add First Home Meet's Under Fleck to Schedule
    Fresno State is proud to announce that the Bulldogs have added two home meets to the 2009-10 schedule. The Bulldogs will face off in the first home dual meets under head coach Jeanne Fleck as they go up against the Pacific Tigers on Jan. 14 at 4:00 p.m. and Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners on Jan. 16. at 12:00 p.m. Both meets will be held at Clovis North High School. Admission for the events will be free and fans are encouraged to come be a part of history and cheer on the `Dogs swimming and diving team.
