FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State freshman diver Stacey Luke was named Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Diver of the Week for the second time this season for her performance in last weekends Beach Cup where the Bulldogs competed against San Diego and Loyola Marymount.
"Stacey puts 100 percent into practice and has been improving at each competition," said head diving coach Taryn Patrick. "I'm very pleased with the way that she has been diving during practice and at meets and I look for her to get even more consistent and score at our conference meet next month!"
Luke, from Kenmore, Wash. (Inglemoor HS), had a career best weekend effort at the Beach Cup where she won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Luke scored a career-high 250.70 on the 1-meter to win by 24 points and a 252.10 on the 3-meter to win by a decisive margin of 30.75 points over the closest opposing team competitor as she was untouchable on both boards.
