Bulldogs Named To MW All-Conference Team

    FRESNO, Calif. - The Mountain West announced the 2012-13 Women's Swimming & Diving All-Conference Team Tuesday. All-Conference selections were awarded to the top eight finishers in the individual events and top three relay team finishers at the MW Championships.

    The Bulldogs had four individuals and one relay team named to the MW All-Conference team. Senior Dani Yoho earned a spot on the team with her first place finish in the 50 free and her fourth place finish in the 100 free. Sophomore Alex Madsen earned her spot with the eighth place finish in the 200 backstroke.

    Senior diver Stacey Luke finished third in the 1-meter dive, finding herself on the All-Conference too as did junior diver Hannah Prigge. Prigge placed fourth in the 1-meter dive, seventh in the 3-meter dive and second in the Platform dive. Also making the MW All-Conference team were Lucy Titchin and Leah Hatayama for their performance in the 200 free relay, bringing the total to six Bulldogs named to the All-Conference team.

    "I'm really excited for the girls who made the All-Conference team," said head swimming and diving coach Jeanne Fleck. "We are really happy how Dani and Alex performed at the meet as well as Stacey and Hannah off the boards and it's great they each made the All-Conference team."

    The Fresno State swimming and diving team had an outstanding performance at the Mountain West Championships breaking nine school records and recording the first ever Fresno State Mountain West individual champion, Dani Yoho.

     

     

    The Bulldogs were led by Madsen who set three new individual school records and was a member of all four relay teams that set new records. Next was Yoho, who set two individual school records and was a member of the four record-setting relays as well.

    "We set nine school records at the Championship meet which was really good for us," said Fleck. "Our relay teams did really well and I am very happy with Lucy Titchin and Leah Hatayama's contributions to the 200 free relay which made the All-Conference team."
