FRESNO, Calif. - Senior diver Hannah Prigge opens competition at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on Thursday morning at the Cadet Natatorium at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. It is her fourth consecutive trip to the Zones.
"I think Hannah is going to do great this week," Fresno State diving coach Taryn Patrick said. "She's worked hard all year and battled through an injury since September, but she's refocused since conference and is ready to go out and impress."
Prigge, a native of Rocklin, Calif., will begin the meet tomorrow morning with the 1-meter preliminary competition. She is one of 62 women entered into the 1-meter event. Diving will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT., with the finals to start at 1:00 p.m. PT.
Friday will be the 3-meter preliminary event running on the same time schedule that the 1-meter competition will follow. Prigge will be in a field of 60 divers for the 3-meter dive.
The meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon with the Platform competition. 49 divers, including Prigge will compete in the final event of the Zones. Diving starts at 10:00 a.m. PT, with finals scheduled to start at 11:50 a.m. PT.
"The biggest challenges this week are going to be the length of the meet and keeping Hannah healthy," Patrick said. "But we're staying positive."
