    FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Sophomore Brittany Buna, a native of Victoria, B.C., will compete in three events at the Canadian Olympic Trials the week of March 27 - April 1, 2012. The Trials will be held in a 50 meter pool in Montreal, Canada at the old Olympic Pool.

    "I am very excited for Brittany," said head swimming coach Jeanne Fleck. "It is an honor to make the qualifying time in your events and race against the best in your country. She has had an awesome year and a great attitude and I look forward to seeing how well she will do."

    Buna will be swimming in the 400 IM on Wednesday, March 28, the 200 IM on Friday, March 30 and the 200 Backstroke on Sunday, April 1. The top two swimmers in each event will make the Olympic Team for Canada.

    In her sophomore year, Buna broke the Fresno State school record in the 400 IM clocking in at 4:24.07. She also swam season best times in the 200 IM with a 2:11.16 and in the 200 Backstroke with a 2:03.30.
