Swimming and Diving 2009 Recruiting Class Honored
June 12, 2009 FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head swimming coach Jeanne Fleck is just beginning her second year at the helm of the newly resurrected swimming and diving program and is already getting honors nationally for her first complete recruiting class for the 2009 season. Fleck along with assistant coach Ryan Purdy and diving coach Taryn Ignacio helped pull the 2009 class together. Seven swimmers and two divers signed National Letters of Intent last November to attend school and compete at Fresno State. Jennifer Hicks (Cincinnati, Ohio), Rayanne Nguyen (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Kathryn Vietti (Clovis, Calif.), Britney Vogel (Fairfield, Calif.), Danielle Yoho (Sugar Land, Texas), Tiffany Boe (Bakersfield, Calif.) and divers Stacey Luke (Bothell, WA) and Nicholle Kohls (Vista, Calif.) are the newest additions to the women's swimming and diving team. "I'm very excited about the incoming freshmen," Fleck said. "It's a great class for us. Ryan gets a lot of credit as our recruiting coordinator. He did a great job of finding swimmers all over the country and the central valley. Taryn also did a great job of getting the types of divers in that we need. This class is really going to help us and will give us a lot of depth." CollegeSwimming.com ranked the top 25 recruiting classes with USC coming in on top, followed by Texas and UCLA. The top 25 classes were ranked followed by 18 other school's receiving note, including the Bulldogs. Fresno State was the only WAC school to make the list.
