TUCSON, Ariz. ---After a standout junior season, Hannah Prigge has continued to excel during her summer training as she prepares for her last year as a Bulldog.

Prigge qualified for Nationals with her marks in the 1-meter dive and the platform competition at the Senior Zone USA Diving National Preliminaries that were held July, 19-21 in Tucson, Ariz.

Out of 65 divers that competed at the Senior Zone qualifier, Prigge finished in fifth place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 231.10, and in second place on the platform event with a score of 267.85. Both scores qualified her for the USA National Diving Championships that will be held Aug. 13-18.

Prigge has been competing as an unattached diver and also training and competing with the Clovis Dive Club this summer. Keeping in shape and competing at such high levels during the summer helps Prigge get ready for her upcoming senior season as a Bulldog.

"I think this prepares any diver for their upcoming season, just because it gives them something to look forward to in the summer instead of just training," said diving coach Taryn Patrick. "She gets to compete against good competition, and the competition is a little bit different in the summer because she is not only diving against college divers, but she is also diving against age groupers. This gives her a well-rounded aspect of competition everywhere and of all ages."

Prigge leaves for the USA National Diving Championships in Iowa City, Iowa on Aug. 11 were she will be competing for titles in both the 1-meter dive and platform event.

"I am really excited that the competition is coming up soon," said Prigge. "I know that I have been training hard this summer and I am ready to go out and compete with the best in the nation!"
