COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State seniors Dani Yoho and Stacey Luke have earned Mountain West Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, for meets contested from Oct. 8-15, 2012. It is the first Mountain West career honor for both student-athletes.
Yoho, a native of Sugar Land, Texas, set a pool and meet record of 23.41 in the 50-yard freestyle at the Fresno State Aquatics Center during last week's Early Bird Invitational. This was the fastest mid-season performance for Yoho and her time ranks her No. 1 among Mountain West sprinters in the event. Yoho also finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (52.85) and swam the final leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:36.83). The Bulldogs finished second at the invitational to NCAA defending champion California.
Luke won the 1-meter springboard (266.18) and the 3-meter springboard (286.43) at the Fresno State Early Bird Invitational. Both marks qualify the Kenmore, Wash., native for NCAA Zones in March 2013. It is the fourth consecutive season that Luke has qualified for NCAA Zones in both events.
