Freshman Heidi Gjoen was impressive in her second collegiate invitational meet of the season, finishing each of her individual and relay events with best times and finishes. Solid in the backstroke, Gjoen earned a lifetime best in the 100 and 200 backstroke events Friday and Saturday at the Mustang Invitational hosted by Cal Poly, earning herself a sixth place spot for her time in the 200 backstroke in the Western Athletic Conference. She showcased her strengths as lead off in the 200 medley relay, a team that went on to place first and earn a high time, as well as in the 200 freestyle relay, another first place finish for the `Dogs. Gjoen also made strides in the 500 freestyle event, a distance event, finishing third and with a time of 5:21.04.
