PULLMAN, Wash. --- The No. 66 Fresno State women's tennis fell 5-2 to Washington State on Friday afternoon at the Simmelink Tennis Courts in Pullman, Wash.

The Bulldogs began the day strong, claiming the doubles point to gain an early 1-0 lead over the Cougars. Sofya Malysheva and Tanya Murtagh paired to win their point at the No. 2 spot while Sophie Watts and Anneka Watts won their fourth straight doubles match together on court No. 3.

Fresno State was unable to hold the lead long as Washington State swept the `Dogs in singles play to win its seventh consecutive match.

The Bulldogs (1-7) who were originally scheduled to face No. 71 Princeton tomorrow morning will now be playing Lewis and Clark State College instead at 6:30 p.m. PT in Lewiston, Idaho.
