SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- In dominate fashion, the No. 68 Fresno State women's tennis team defeated Cal Poly 6-1 in its regular season final on Friday afternoon at Mustang Courts. Concluding regular season play on a nine-match win streak, this is the Bulldogs best finish as a program since 2009.

"I am so proud of the team today, we finished regular season on a very high note, "said Fresno State head coach Ryan Stotland. "We played a very tough veteran Cal Poly team, to come out on their senior day and take the crowd out of it from the beginning was a great testament to what we have become."

The Bulldogs took charge from the beginning of the dual, fighting past the Mustangs to sweep all three doubles matches for the point.

Fresno State then carried momentum in singles, taking wins on courts one through five in straight sets for the win.

"To win 12 out of our last 13 matches we feel like we are ready to take on anybody," added Stotland. "The team is so excited and we cannot wait to get the conference championships started!"

With their best finish in five years, the Bulldogs currently sit first in conference and are set to host the 2014 MW Tennis Championships next week at Sierra Sport and Racquet Club on April 23-27.
