FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State women's tennis team finished the Cal Nike Invitational on Sunday by recording four wins.
In the gold singles consolation semifinals, Olga Kirpicheva fell to Santa Clara's Alex Zaniewski in a close match 6-3, 6-4.
In the round robin consolation singles flight, the 'Dogs notched two wins. Melissa McQueen defeated USF's Melind Akerbrandt 6-2, 6-2. Anne Susdorf also secured a win over USF's Yurie Hashiguchi 6-3, 6-1. Bianca Modoc fell in a tight match with a tiebreak third set 6-2, 3-6, 1-0(9) to USF's Mil Hadzi-Tanovic.
In the White doubles flight, Anne Susdorf joined forces with Rymman Maslova of Nevada to win 8-1 over Ashleyn Schmitgen and Melissa Arthur.
In the round robin consolation doubles, Melissa McQueen and Olga Kirpicheva teamed to defeat Pacifics Gergana Boncheva and Regina Suarez 8-3, while Cal's Alice Duranteau and Lynn Chi topped Aishwarya Agrawal and Bianca Modoc 8-3.
Fresno State's first home event will come at the beginning of November when the 'Dogs host the Bulldog Classic Nov. 2-4.
