    FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State sophomore Laura Pola picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Santa Clara's Alexandra Zaniewski in the consolation bracket of the Saint Mary's Invitational on Friday in Moraga, Calif.

    The Bulldogs' young women's tennis continued its development against stiff competition at the Saint Mary's Invitation. Fresno State played a total of six singles matches and one doubles match for the first day of competition.

    "We are getting matches and gaining experience," head coach Simon Thibodeau said. "It's all about learning to compete at this point."

    The Invitational will continue on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.
