'Dogs Continue to Climb on Day Two

FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State women's tennis team continued to find success on day two of the Bulldog Classic at Sierra Racquet Club on Saturday.
The Bulldogs went 4-for-7 in doubles on day two. Rana Sherif Ahmed and Sophie Watts highlighted the day with two victories. The pair defeated Long and Minor of Oregon (8-6) in the semifinals and will play Lozano and Sanzo of Idaho in the doubles championship Sunday morning.
Freshman Claire Yang beat Sayaka Tsugai of Cal Poly in (6-2, 6-2) the semifinal round of Flight F. Yang is set to play Bety Flores of Idaho tomorrow in the singles final round.
"It was a good day to be a Bulldog, we did what we came to accomplish and we played pretty well," said Fresno State head coach Ryan Stotland. "I am excited to see the team improve, their doubles game picked up and our singles was definitely more subtle than ever. Hopefully we finish tomorrow strong with the last day of competition."
Fresno State is back in action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. for the final day of Bulldog Classic at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
