FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State women's tennis team continued their dominating performance during the Bulldog Classic Saturday with three players advancing to the finals of their respective brackets as well as two doubles teams advancing to the semifinal round of the main doubles draw. The final day of the tournament will kick off Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

"I am very proud of the girls as several of the teams have gone home and we still have everyone playing in the draw on Sunday," said first year head coach Ryan Stotland. "Saturday was definitely a great day to be a Bulldog. We are doing very well in our own tournament and hope to win all of the draws. We would love to have the support of the Red Wave out at the tennis center for the finals Sunday."

Through two days of competition, the 'Dogs have posted a combined record of 15-3, and every player will play in at least a semifinal match Sunday.

The day started off with doubles and two Bulldog duos advancing to the semifinals. Seniors Melissa McQueen and Bianca Modoc rolled to an 8-3 win, while Aishwarya Agrawal and Olga Kirpicheva edged teammate Anne Susdorf and her partner from Nevada 8-6.

In singles, McQueen won two extremely close matches to advance to the Flight A finals. In the quarterfinals she won a first set tiebreak, before notching the necessary break of serve in the second set for a 7-6(5), 6-4 victory. She then bounced back later in the afternoon to win a three setter over the tournament's third seed 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.

The next finalist for the 'Dogs comes from the B Flight. Susdorf clinched the victory in a close second set to advance to the finals by a score of 6-3, 7-5. In the final draw, Kirpicheva won two matches on the day to advance to the Flight A Consolation final. Kirpicheva gave up only six games in four sets, with one set giving up zero. In the quarterfinal round she won 6-3, 6-1, before rolling in the semifinals 6-0, 6-2.

Sunday's action will begin with doubles at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by singles at approximately 11:30 a.m. This will be the final chance for Fresno State fans to see the women's tennis team in action this fall.
