FRESNO, Calif. - On day two of the ITA National Indoor Championships it was business as usual for the No. 8 ranked Bulldog doubles team of Anastasia Petukhova and Renata Kucerkova.

The Bulldog juniors picked up a dominating 8-0 victory over No. 45 Grabinski/Marand of North Carolina, advancing to the semifinals of the tournament to be played Saturday.

Petukhova and Kucerkova are no strangers to the national spotlight this year, advancing to the doubles final at the ITA All-American Championships earlier in the fall season, and capturing the ITA Northwest Regional doubles title just three weeks ago.

Petukhova was still alive in the singles tournament as well, as she took on No. 7 Marina Cossou of Cal. Cossou won the first set 6-4, but the Bulldog bounced back to take the second set 6-3. In the third and final set Cossou prevailed taking the hard fought match 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

Fresno State was also represented in the singles and doubles consolation bracket.

No. 12 senior Melanie Gloria defeated No. 24 Katie Rybakova of Florida State 6-2, 6-0. She then took on No. 20 Kelcy McKenna of Arizona State. Gloria was unable to defeat McKenna as she dropped the match 6-3, 6-2.

After a tough loss Thursday, the nation's No. 1 doubles team of Gloria and senior Tinesta Rowe were victorious over No. 30 Falconi/McDowell of Georgia Tech 8-5, to advance to the consolation semis.

The tournament continues Saturday with Kucerkova and Petukhova competing in the semifinals of the main draw, while Gloria and Rowe will be featured in the semifinals of the consolation tournament.

Matches will begin at 10:00 a.m. EST.
