`Dogs Complete ASU Invite

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team concluded the fall season with a strong display in singles at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. On the final day of the tournament, seniors Danon Beatty and Bruna Paes along with freshmen Abigail Olivier and Laura Pola each competed in one singles match. Paes and Olivier also teamed for one match, while Beatty and Pola were also featured in doubles. Paes took on Ali Van Horne of Arizona State, defeating the Sun Devil 6-4, 6-3 to finish the fall season on a high note. Pola also picked up a victory in her final singles match of the fall season when she took down Michelle Sulahian of Michigan 6-4, 3-6, (10-5), while fellow Bulldog freshman Olivier knocked off Anastasia Putilina of Utah 4-6, 6-3, (10-8) Beatty battled Rika Tatsuno of Michigan but was unable to pick up the win as Tatsuno took the hard fought match 5-7, 6-2, (10-7). In doubles, Olivier/Paes won a thrilling match over Martin/Van Horne of Arizona State by a score of 8-3, while Beatty/Pola defeated Kintsler/Andrews of USC 8-3.
The Bulldogs will return to the court Jan. 16, competing in the Freeman Memorial Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev. ASU Thunderbird Invitational Day Three Doubles Results
