    2014 ITA Kick-Off Weekend
    After playing in its last tournament of the season, the No. 56 Fresno State women's tennis team opens dual play at ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Saturday, Jan. 25, in Clemson, S.C. The four team tournament features the Bulldogs along with No. 32 Tennessee, No. 27 Purdue and the host school, No. 13 Clemson. Fresno State is set to face Clemson in the first round on Saturday at 10 a.m., at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Facility. The winner will either face Tennessee or Purdue on Sunday in the championship match at 10 a.m., with the winner advancing to the Team Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, VA, on Feb. 7-10.

    About the Competition
    The Bulldogs will face No. 13 Clemson in the first round of ITA Kick-Off weekend on Saturday. The Tigers opened up their dual season with two home wins last weekend over Troy University and Charleston Southern. Clemson has four ranked players in No. 44 Beatrice Gumulya, No. 51 Romy Koelzer, No. 74 Yana Koroleva, and No. 103 Tristen Dewar. Like Fresno State, Tennessee and Purdue are opening their dual season this weekend.

    On the Road
    The Bulldogs open spring season with a month-long road trip in California, South Carolina, Kansas and Washington. After beginning season at the California Winter Invite last weekend, Fresno State is set to travel to Clemson, S.C. for ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The Bulldogs then return to California to face Sacramento State and St. Mary's before heading to Kansas and Washington to conclude their nine-match road trip.

    Home Opener
    After opening the season with nine dual road matches, the Bulldogs will host No. 67 Santa Clara for their home opener on Friday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. Fresno State will then hit the courts two days later to face Boise State for their first MW match of the year at 10 a.m.

    Stotland Enters Second Season
    Head coach Ryan Stotland enters his second season at the helm of the Fresno State women's tennis program. In his first year at the reigns, Stotland led the Bulldogs to a third place finish in their first year in the Mountain West with a 7-3 record. Stotland also guided the 'Dogs to their highest ITA ranking of No. 52, which came on Feb. 12, 2013, and also had two doubles pairs earn ITA rankings throughout the year. Under Stotland's leadership three Bulldogs earned MW Player of the Week in 2013.

    ITA Rankings
    After a strong opening weekend, Fresno State holds its spot in the Top 75 at No. 56 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's second rankings of 2014 that were released on Jan. 21. The Bulldogs also hold their singles and doubles ranking that were released in the initial polls. Sophomore Sophie Watts has an ITA singles ranking of No. 104, while Aishwarya Agrawal and Claire Yang paired to maintain an ITA doubles ranking of No. 41. Watts was also ranked at No. 15 in the ITA Northwest Region rankings while Agrawal and Yang have a doubles ranking of No. 7 in the region.
