Petukhova Ranked in the Top 15 Singles
The latest ITA Tennis Singles Rankings, released on March 2, have Fresno State senior Anastasia Petukhova pegged at No. 12 in the nation. Petukhova defeated five ranked opponents at various fall tournaments in the fall season. She and partner Renata Kucerkova were the No. 1 doubles team in the country in the fall preseason rankings, but have been unranked thus far in the spring, because Kucerkova did not compete in the fall due to an injury.

    Petukhova Aiming for School Record
With a victory over Saint Mary's Alex Poorta on Feb. 4, Fresno State senior Anastasia Petukhova took sole possession of third place on the all-time wins list with 106. Previously she was in a tie for third place with Katharina Winterhalter (2002-06). This year the Bulldog faithful will watch Petukhova make a run for the top spot. She needs 23 wins to match No. 1 Dora Djilianova's (1996-99) 129. Petukhova's doubles partner, Renata Kucerkova will chase her for the mark also. Kucerkova currently has 93 victories and is in eighth place on the list, She is just one win shy of tying Kim Niggemeyer for seventh place with 94. With 30 wins her freshman season, sophomore Laura Pola got off to a good start to make the Top 20. She now has 34 and needs just 29 to move into a four-way tie for 19th place.
