'Dogs Home for a Pair of MW Matches
Having won seven of their last eight matches played, the Bulldogs (8-8, 1-0 MW) will test their undefeated home record as they close home play with two Mountain West matches this weekend. Fresno State will face San Diego State on Friday before taking on the UNLV Rebels on Sunday at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. Both matches start at 10 a.m. PT.

    About the Competition
San Diego State (7-8, 1-0 MW) heads into Friday's dual on a two-match win streak after defeating No. 37 Harvard (6-1) on March 19 and then Boise State (7-0) in its first conference match of the season on March 25. The Aztecs lead the Bulldogs 8-5 all-time and edged Fresno State 4-3 in a neutral-site contest last season. San Diego State is 0-4 on the road this season and 1-9 against ranked opponents this spring.

UNLV (8-7, 1-0 MW) concluded its eight-match home stand with a 4-1 win over Oregon on Wednesday. The Rebels are led by 58th-ranked senior Lucia Batta who is 11-4 at the top spot in singles dual play this spring. Batta also plays at the No. 1 spot in doubles with junior Santa Shumilina, the pair are currently 8-3 in doubles. Like San Diego State and Fresno State, UNLV is in search of its second MW win of the season. The Bulldogs lead the Rebels 9-8 all-time. The two teams split two dual matches last season in Fresno State's first season in the MW.

    Undefeated at Home
The Bulldogs are currently undefeated (5-0) at home this season. Fresno State has won its last four matches, including three straight home duals over UT Arlington, Dartmouth and No. 58 Denver. In search of two conference wins, the Bulldogs look to continue its win streak as they conclude their five-match home stand with San Diego State (March 28) and UNLV (March 30) for their last home duals of the season.

    Watts Named MW POW
Sophomore Sophie Watts was named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday for competition played March 19-25. This is her first career MW weekly accolade and second for the Bulldogs this season. Watts led Fresno State to a huge 6-1 victory over No. 58 Denver on March 20, winning both her singles and doubles matches for the Bulldogs to help them remain undefeated (5-0) at home this season while extending their win streak to four. Watts helped win the doubles point for the 'Dogs, defeating Kathryn Hughes and Sonja Radosevic (8-4) on court one alongside teammate and twin sister Anneka Watts. The Watts twins are now 11-1 in doubles dual play this spring, having moved all the way up the ladder from the No. 3 position to the top spot. The Hitchin, England native then carried her momentum into singles, winning her point over Maureen Slattery of Denver in straight sets (7-5, 6-3) at the one slate. Sophie Watts is 8-8 in singles dual play this season at the No. 1 spot and is current ranked at No. 70 in the ITA.
