Fresno State Opens WAC Season With Tripleheader

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team opens the conference season with a triple header against Idaho, Hawai'i and San Jose State on Saturday in Santa Clara, Calif., and San Jose, Calif.
The Bulldogs wil first square off against the Idaho Vandals at 8:30 a.m. in Santa Clara, Calif., then will travel to San Jose, Calif., to face Hawai'i at noon and San Jose State at 3 p.m.
Senior Renata Kucerkova leads the Bulldogs and is coming off a 7-6, 3-6, (10-7) victory over No. 29 Marta Lesniak of SMU on March 27.
Idaho has put together an impressive 15-1 record this season, including its current 15-match winning streak. The Vandals have not lost since Jan. 15 -- a 6-1 loss to Washington State. The Vandals are led by No. 99 Gabriela Niculescu, a senior hailing from Bucharest, Romania.
Hawai'i comes into the weekend with a 5-11 record and are riding a three-match winning streak.
San Jose State is
The Bulldogs will next be in action against New Mexico State and Utah State on April 9 in Las Cruces, N.M. The next day, Fresno State will finish that weekend against Nevada in Las Cruces, N.M.
