Fresno State Women's Tennis player Melanie Gloria has been named the Toyota/Gobulldogs.com Player of the Week on April 7. Gloria was named WAC Player of the Week for this week as well.
In the Match against Nevada, No. 4-ranked doubles tandum Gloria and Rowe battled No. 58-ranked Mizyuk and Bailly in a tiebreaker for the doubles point. The match came down to a tie-breaker after the teams had been flip-flopping games back and forth. The final score was a win for Gloria and Rowe, 9-8 (5). In singles, Gloria played at the No. 1 spot for the Bulldogs. No. 14th-ranked Gloria won her match against No. 59 Maria Mizyuk, 6-2, 6-0. On Sunday in the match against Pepperdine, Gloria played at the No. 1 spot and came out strong with a win over 77th-ranked Sylvia Kosakowski 6-1, 6-4.
