'Dogs Collect All-WAC Honors

FRESNO, Calif. - Two Fresno State singles players and one doubles team received All-WAC honors for the 2010 season. Bulldog seniors Anastasia Petukhova and Renata Kucerkova were named First Team All-WAC in singles for the fourth time in each of their careers. The doubles combo of Laura Pola and Kucerkova picked up Second Team All-WAC honors. Petukhova is currently the No. 14 singles player in the country and reached as high as No. 4 this spring. She is 11-4 on the season, with seven wins against nationally ranked opponents. Kucerkova compiled a 7-1 record in the WAC and has climbed the ITA Rankings to No. 87 nationally in singles. She has also defeated four nationally-ranked opponents this season. In doubles, Kucerkova put together a 6-2 record in WAC play this season. Most recently they knocked off No. 32 Brittany Blalock and Suzie Matzenauer of Sacramento State. The Bulldogs will be in action against New Mexico State on Friday for the first round of the WAC Tournament. 2010 WAC Women's Tennis Award Winners
