FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's tennis head coach Simon Thibodeau announced the signing of Marianne Jodoin from Varennes, Quebec, Canada, to a National Letter of Intent to attend school and play tennis for Fresno State for the 2010-11 season.
Jodoin prepped at Vanier High School and competed on the Canadian junior scene.
"We are very happy with the addition of a top recruit like Marianne Jodoin," Thibodeau said. "She is one of the top juniors in Canada and brings experience to our team both in singles and doubles. She also has a tremendous work ethic."
Jodoin was a member of the Canadian Junior National team and is ranked in the Top 70 juniors in the world. She has won tournaments in various countries, including the Canadian Under 18 ITF Junior World Ranking Event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the Panama Bowl in Llanos de Curundu, Panama, and the Prince Cup in Miami, Fla.
Jodoin will be a freshman with four years to play for the Bulldogs.
