FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State women's tennis team will begin its fall season this weekend at the Cal Nike Invitational in Berkeley, Calif. The invitational will take place all day Friday through Sunday at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Tennis Courts.
The Bulldogs are one of 13 teams participating in the event. In addition to the 'Dogs, 80-plus players will represent Cal, Pacific, UC Davis, BYU, Arizona State, Nevada, Santa Clara, Minnesota, Saint Mary's, San Jose State, Sacramento State and San Francisco.
The tournament that will showcase three singles flights and three doubles flights (Gold, Blue and White).
The Cal Nike Invitational will boast some of the best talent in the nation. Seven singles players and three doubles teams, including Fresno State's doubles duo of Aishwarya Agrawal and Bianca Modoc, are ranked in the ITA Preseason Rankings for 2012-13.
This will be the first of three fall tournaments for the Bulldogs. The first chance for the Red Wave to see the 'Dogs in action will be Nov. 2-4 when Fresno State hosts the Bulldog Classic.
