Prior to arriving at Fresno State, Kubik's collegiate coaching background also includes two years as an assistant coach at Texas Christian and three years at Northern Colorado.

Helping to start the TCU volleyball program from scratch in 1996, the Horned Frogs advanced to the 1997 Western Athletic Tournament in only its second year with a 13-18 overall record.

From 1994-96 Kubik helped Northern Colorado to a third place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships as an assistant coach. The women's team compiled a 31-2 overall record and were NCAA Regional champions. With back-to-back North Central Conference titles, UNC posted a 30-3 overall record with a runner-up title in NCAA Regional play.

In addition he served as the men's head volleyball coach at Northern Colorado those same three years and compiled an 86-30 record.

Kubik guided the UNC men's club team to fifth and ninth place finishes at the NIRSA National Championships. In addition, he served as an assistant for the women's teams who were two-time NCC champions and finished third at the NCAA's in 1994.

On the high school level, he served as the freshman coach at Sam Barlow High School in Oregon as well as serving as an assistant coach for the varsity team. His freshman team compiled a 25-2 record and the varsity team snagged the Mt. Hood Conference championship crown in 1990-92. In 1992-94, he also spent two years as the junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach at West Linn High School in Oregon. His junior varsity team compiled a 55-15 mark while the varsity team captured the Three Rivers Conference championship title.

Kubik boasts 13 years of head coach experience at the USAV Junior Volleyball level. He garnered 1992 coach of the year honors with the Portland Volleyball Club.

Having served as an assistant club director and coach for the Asics Sports City Volleyball Club for the last four years, Kubik has had tremendous success in developing young talent in the Central Valley as 16 teams have qualified for the USA Junior Nationals under his guidance.

The summer of 2003 saw Kubik take on more of an administrator role. His success on patrolling the sidelines equated into a new overall success for the Central Valley as he oversaw the merging of two powerhouse club programs -- Sports City and Fresno Volleyball Club -- into one. Comprised of eight teams ranging from 18-under to 12-under, the club had an excellent year. Three teams qualified for the Junior Nationals in Atlanta while 10 players from the club achieved regional and national recognition by being invited to participate in the USA High Performance Program. In addition, two club coaches were also chosen to work with the USA High Performance Program.

In 2002 he took a very young and inexperienced 18's team to unexpected success. The Asics Sport's City 18's finished in the Top 25 in the USAV Open Division at Colorado Crossroads, Lone Star Qualifier, Southern California Qualifier and Junior Far Western Qualifier. They also finished in the top 10 in the Stockton Classic and High Roller's Tournament with a 36th place finish at the Volleyball Festival Tournament.

In 2001 his success saw three teams qualify for the Open Division at the USA Junior Nationals. Also coaching the Sport's City 14's team, Kubik directed the squad to six top five finishes (Southern California Qualifier, Junior Far Westerns Qualifier, President's Day Classic, NCVA Regionals - 4th place ranking, Reno High Rollers - tournament champions), culminating with an 11th place finish nationally at the USA Junior Nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 2000, his Sports City 17's team posted Top 25 finishes at the Southern California Qualifier, Junior Far Western's, Pacific Northwest Qualifier and the Fiesta Classic. A co-founder for the Sport's City Volleyball Club team, Kubik also had his team place 25th in its first year of existence at the USA Junior Nationals in Louisville, Ky. In addition, Kubik had four teams qualify for the USA Junior National Championships.

A volunteer court coach with the 1997 USA Women's National and World University Team and 1996-99 AVCA for the NCAA Final Four, Kubik also completed his work to become a Coaches Accreditation Program (CAP) Level I coach.

A native of Gresham, Ore., Kubik was a two-sport letterwinner in football and track at Sam Barlow High School. At Northern Colorado he played three seasons for the UNC men's club volleyball team before graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in kinesiology in 1996.

Working on a masters degree in exercise physiology, he holds an associate of arts degree in general education from Mt. Hood Community College (1994).

Kubik is a member of the United States of America Volleyball (USAV), the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Coaches Accreditation Program (CAP).
