    FRESNO, Calif.-- The Fresno State volleyball team heads to San Diego for its final non-conference tournament of the 2012-13 season, which is hosted by University of San Diego. Also participating in the tournament are Yale and UC Santa Barbara.

    The Bulldogs open the tournament with the Toreros on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. The `Dogs face the Gauchos and Yale on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.

    Fresno State vs. San Diego
    The Bulldogs and Toreros meet for the 12th time on Friday night. Fresno State leads the series, 6-5. The last meeting was last season and San Diego defeated the 'Dogs in three sets. The Toreros were ranked No. 20 in the nation in last year's match.

    Scouting the Toreros
    San Diego is the first ranked team the Bulldogs will face in 2012. The Toreros are ranked No. 16 in the country by AVCA. San Diego has an overall mark of 5-2. Last weekend, the Toreros were 2-1 beating Notre Dame and Cal Poly, while losing to No. 5 USC. Alaysia Brown averages a team best 2.8 kills per game and hitting .355.

    Fresno State vs. Yale
    The Bulldogs and Yale meet for the first time in program history this weekend. The Bulldogs are the second team from the Ivy League that Fresno State has faced this season. Fresno State defeated Cornell 3-0 earlier in the year.

    Scouting the Bulldogs
    Yale is 3-2 after five matches in 2012. Last weekend, Yale went 1-1 defeating Villanova in four sets and falling to Northwestern in four sets. Jesse Ebner leads the team with 2.4 kills per set and is hitting .338. Defensively, Maddie Rudnick is averaging 4.4 digs per set for the Bulldogs.

    Fresno State vs. UC Santa Barbara
    The Bulldogs and Gauchos face off for the 28th time in program history. UC Santa Barbara owns a 23-4 series lead over the 'Dogs. The last time these two squared off on the court was in 2005 and the Gauchos won in three sets.

    UC Santa Barbara is 6-5 on the year. Last weekend, UCSB went 1-2 after beating Geor¬gia Southern (3-2) and losing to Portland (2-3) and New Mexico (2-3). Leah Sully leads the team with 4.0 kills per set and is hitting .195. She also averages 3.8 digs per set.

    Multiple Bulldogs Record Career Night Against Sacramento State
    Three Bulldogs had a career night in front of the home crowd. Libero Christina Lee collected a career-high 34 digs averaging 6.8 per set. Her previous match best was 27 digs. Junior Megan Callahan recorded a career best 16 kills. She led the team hitting .419 converting 16-of-31 attempts. Finally, setter Barbara Alcantara recorded a career-high 59 assists in five sets.

    'Dogs Double Trouble
    The Bulldogs have recorded a total of 11 double-double's in 2012. Marissa Brand leads with five on the year and Korrin Wild is right behind with four. Barbara Alcantara added two double-doubles of her own. All three recorded a double-double against Utah Valley.
