    FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State volleyball team hosts Fresno Pacific in an exhibition match on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. before jumping back into conference action with New Mexico on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.

    Tuesday night's match against the Sunbirds is Greek night and the first 100 Fresno State Greeks in the door will receive a Bulldog Greek tank top. Thursday night's match against the Lobos is Rock the House Night and the first 200 fans in the Save Mart Center will receive a free t-shirt.

    Fresno State vs. Fresno Pacific
    The Bulldogs and Sunbirds meet for an exhibition match for the eighth year in a row. Fresno Pacific has won the previous eight meetings.

    Scouting the Sunbirds
    Fresno Pacific is 11-1 and its only loss of the season was to Seattle Pacific, which the Sunbirds lost in five sets. Rupia Inck leads the team with 3.5 kills per set hitting .214 and averaging 2.7 digs per set. Kathleen Anderson is averaging 1.5 blocks per set. FPU has tallied 13.1 kills, 16.4 digs and 2.5 blocks per set.

    Fresno State vs. New Mexico
    The Bulldogs and Lobos meet for the 16th time in program history. The Lobos lead the series 8-7. The last meeting was in 2009 and the `Dogs won 3-1.

    Scouting the Lobos
    New Mexico has an overall mark of 14-2 and 2-0 in conference. The Lobos opened the first weekend of Mountain West match ups with wins over Colorado State (3-2) and Wyoming (3-1). Chantale Riddle leads the league with 4.2 kills per set and is hitting .259. She is also averaging 2.3 digs per set. New Mexico is averaging 12.3 kills, 14.3 digs and 2.1 blocks per set.

    Netherby-Sewell Notches 100th Career Win
    Fresno State volleyball head coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell earned her 100th career win on Sept. 20 after the Bulldogs came from behind to defeat Boise State, 3-2. Her head coaching career began in 2006 at Hofstra. Netherby-Sewell has led the Bulldogs since 2008.

    The Week That Was
    The Bulldogs opened Mountain West play with a 1-1 record earning a 3-2 win over Boise State and losing 3-1 to Air Force. Barbara Alcantara tallied a career-high 61 assists against the Broncos, while Marissa Brand recorded a career-high 25 kills.

    Alcantara Named Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week
    Senior Barbara Alcantara was named Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week after guiding the Bulldogs to a come from behind win over Boise State on Sept. 20. The win was the first Mountain West win for Fresno State. Alcantara recorded a career-high 61 assists against the Broncos and hit .556 with six kills.

    Fresno State Leading the Pack
    After the fifth week of the season, the Bulldogs are among the top 10 in several individual Mountain West statistical categories. Senior Barbara Alcantara leads the conference with 11.3 assists per set. She has a total of 609 assists on the season. Junior Korrin Wild leads the conference with .4 aces per set, a total of 21 on the year. Freshman Zana Bowens is ninth with .3 aces per set and a total of 14 service aces. Sophomore Maci Murdock has the fifth best hitting percentage at .333. Redshirt junior Marissa Brand is second in kills per set with 3.8. Christina Lee is fourth in digs per set averaging 4.4.
