FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Nevada Wolf Pack are tied at 2-2 in the middle of the WAC standings after two weeks of play. The two teams meet for the first time in 2007 at the Save Mart Center Thursday (Sept. 27) at 7 p.m.

Both the Bulldogs and the Wolf Pack have defeated Boise State on the road and beaten Louisiana Tech at home, while both fell to Idaho in the road and New Mexico State at home.

"This match is a chance for us to not only move ahead of Nevada in the WAC standings, but an opportunity to move our conference record above .500 again," said head coach Ruben Nieves. "We feel we continued to build good momentum on our last road trip and we are hoping to play our best matches of the year this week."

Overall, Fresno State is 4-10 while Nevada is 5-6. Hawai'i leads the WAC at 5-0, followed by NMSU and Utah State at 3-1, Idaho at 2-1, Nevada and FS at 2-2, San Jose State at 0-2 and Louisiana Tech and Boise State at 0-4.

The Bulldogs lead the overall series 17-12 but Nevada has won the last three matches, including the Nov. 4, 2006 match 3-2. The last FS victory over Nevada was Oct. 22, 2005, 3-2.

The match will be broadcasted live on Comcast Channel 14 and on 790 ESPN the Deuce.

"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The Fresno State Volleyball team's next match is this Thursday, September 27 against Nevada at 7 p.m. in the Save Mart Center. It's Take a Kid to a Game Night where all kids in the 8th grade and younger receive a free ticket when accompanied by a paying adult.
