    FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State hosts its first full week of WAC play as Boise State and Idaho visit the Save Mart Center this week. Boise State is the first opponent this week as the Bulldogs battle the Broncos on Thursday at 7 p.m. before taking on Idaho at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

    The Bulldogs are tied for fourth in WAC play at 2-2, which ties their conference start from last season. With five wins total, the Bulldogs equaled last years win total with the 3-2 victory at Utah State.

    Boise State
    The Broncos are 1-2 in WAC play and 4-9 overall, currently in sixth place. Boise State has WAC losses to Idaho and Hawai'i and it's only WAC win was a sweep over San Jose State. Fresno State leads the overall series 13-5, with BSU winning the last match 3-2 on Oct. 4, 2007. The match will be aired live on Comcast Local 14 with Randy Rosenbloom and Brian Tsukimura calling the action live. 790 ESPN Radio the Deuce will also air the match live. It is Faculty/Staff Appreciation & Take A Kid to a Game Night. Volleyball student-athletes invite their professors with an offer for four free tickets. All campus faculty/staff can show their ID for $2 admission. Any youth eighth grade and under accompanied by a paid adult will get in for free.

    The Vandals are tied with Boise State in WAC play at 1-2 and are 8-6 overall. The win over Boise State is Idaho's only WAC win of the season. They also fell to Hawai'i (3-1) and New Mexico State (3-0). Idaho plays at Nevada before traveling to Fresno on Saturday. Idaho leads the overall series with Fresno State 8-1, winning the last seven including a 3-0 victory on Nov. 8, 2007. Saturday's match will be the first afternoon WAC match at the SMC this season and it is Girl Scout and Autograph Day before the Bulldog football team takes on Hawai'i at 7 p.m. that night.

    Fighting Spirit Award
    Head coach Lauren Netherby-Sewell announced a new tradition at Fresno State, one that she brought with her from Hofstra. The award will be given to the player who shows the most 'Fighting Spirit' in each match and will be announced at the conclusion of each match on For more information about the award check out the release on the website.
